Training and Placement

The Department of Training and Placement is headed by eminent Prof. Edwin Anthony Amalanathan K., Director – Training and Placement, who has an excellent fusion of Business School and Corporate experience. Keeping the motto of achieving 100% placement to the students of SKP Engineering College, Tiruvannamalai the department works tirelessly round the clock training the students from the first semester to the final, focusing both on technical and non-technical (Employability Skills) ends. There are set of rules and regulations defined for the placement activities. The students who have no backlogs, needing placement assistance, are to register for the same in the format prescribed and an option of opting out is given for the wards who are interested in going for higher studies by registering as opt-outs.

The Director with the team frames the visit to the corporate sector meeting the HR Personnel from various companies with a mix of tier one, two and three. This year alone the team has visited more than 80 companies.

With immense happiness it is announced that 100% placement is achieved for the batch of 2007 – 2011. All the students are well placed in the best of the best companies through the Campus Placement Drive 2011. The lists of companies where the students are placed are the following:

Career Avathar

Career Avathar is a cynosure – a grand finale where the offer letters of the students who have been selected by various companies every year are distributed. This year the auspicious red lettered day has been celebrated on May 7, 2011. Shri A. K. Pattabiraman, Head, Accreditation Process, TATA Consultancy Services, Chennai has been the chief guest to grace the occasion. He has honoured Career Avathar – 2011 by distributing the offer letters to the students and wishing them all success in their new avathar as corporate personnel.

 Institute Industry Interaction

To bridge the gap between the Campus to the Corporate the Department of Training and Placement has instituted Institute Industry Interaction (3i) inviting Professionals from esteemed corporate sectors. The 3i has been inaugurated by Shri Jayaramakrishnan, Vice President, Head – Global Alliances, TATA Consultancy Services, Chennai. The aim is to educate the students on the work culture, expectations of the corporate, skills required apart from their curricula and the like.
